Do you believe in yourself?

We are fully in the swing of the holidays! Kids are out of school, parties are happening, gifts are being exchanged, and decorations are adorning everything. Hopefully, you are getting lost in the joy and excitement of the season.

With all the festivities going on, we often let go of prioritizing ourselves. One of the biggest questions I get asked by clients, friends, and family is, how do I maintain my routines and habits when life is super busy?

We seem to let other things, commitments, and people take priority in our lives while we put ourselves on the back burner. You don't need me to tell you that this is a recipe for disaster. While you hear me talk about the need to maintain your habits and routines even when life gets busy, that's not what we’re talking about today. If you want to read more about prioritizing yourself, you can check out any of these posts.

Today we are talking about what happens when you start believing in yourself so much that you don't even worry about how the holidays will affect your habits and routines. You know that this time of year, or any time you are busy, is not about perfection but instead about pivoting and adapting. You believe so strongly in yourself and what you are doing that you know no matter what comes up you will be able to find ways to continue to prioritize yourself. It may not look the same, but you remain a priority.

Have you ever felt that way? Maybe you are feeling that way now. Maybe you have never felt that way but would like to.

There is a quote from Christopher Robin that says, "Always remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think."

Most of us struggle with believing in ourselves. We focus on our failures and often have to be reminded of our successes. The focus on the negative, and the negative self-talk that come along with this, are the things that keep us from having what we want in life.

In order to grow and become the person deep down you know you can be, you have to believe in yourself. You have to see your potential, recognize where you have beat obstacles, and trust yourself and the strength you have created to move forward. That strength will help you remain focused on what you can do and take you places you never imagined you would go to.

The way to build that kind of trust and belief in yourself is to create small habits that you do daily. These are tiny little habits that you know without a doubt that you can do every day. They are small and simple, and are specific to you and how your life is.

These small habits give you the ability to succeed on a daily basis. They give you a win every day even if it feels too easy. Those successes give you faith and belief in yourself that you have not had before because they happen so consistently. That kind of consistency creates an imprint in your brain where you start to see yourself as someone who does the things you want to be doing in life.

When you start to see yourself as someone who does what you want to be doing, you build confidence in yourself and your habits. That confidence gives you the strength to move forward when you would have fallen off track in the past. It also gives you the ability to see possibilities where before you only saw barriers. You begin to focus on the process and not the outcome. Because suddenly the outcome becomes less important than the foundation needed to get you there.

This makes you unstoppable in whatever you want to take on in life. It teaches you not only how to be successful but how to pivot and adapt when life needs you to without being thrown off course and giving up completely .

This is one of the most amazing things about coaching, I get to watch as people transform from not being who they want to be and thinking they can never have what they want, to someone who is unstoppable, who looks at any situation and sees how to overcome the obstacles to get what they want.

The best part is, anyone can have this. You just have to figure out that first small step that will get you started. That's truly all it takes, just one small step.

What is that first small step you are going to take today to help you get the life you want? I would love to hear all about it, if you feel so inclined comment below and let me know.
